![]() I'm not underestimating KyoAni at all, I think they do a great job at cinematography (and I don't follow studios particularly yet they stand out the most to me nowadays) but let me also stick to my opinion that I can't see as much symbolism there as I see in the shots I posted from Utena or Cowboy Bebop (and there are a lot more). I will list below a great video that explains a lot about this aspect of KyoAni and gives some examples. Euphonium and Clannad are also masterful at this. There is a post above this one that shows some of the best cinematographic shots from Haruhi and Hyouka (which I forgot to mention because I know of it's cinematography even though I haven't seen it yet). You won't notice how great their symbolism really is unless you pay extremely close attention. They are a studio where you need to pay attention to the little details. The part about KyoAni is actually completely wrong. ![]() I've watched Hibike and loved it btw thanks! many works I didn't know about and seem I haven't watched any Lupin but I guess that won't be a problem and that one looks really nice!!! The part about KyoAni is actually completely wrong. ![]() Wow thanks a lot everyone for so many recs, I think I have anime to watch for 3 years it's true, KyoAni does some pretty animation but the way I see it, mostly it's just "pretty" I mean there's not so much artistic meaning or symbolism behind the pretty shots, lighting, colours, smoothness.
